About Me
Hi, I am Jim Z. I have been living in the Denver, Colorado area since 1994. I was born in Minnesota and prior to moving to Denver I lived in several different cities in Minnesota. I decided I liked the weather in Denver a lot more than the weather in Minnesota, especially in the winter.
The average snowfall in the Denver area is about 62 inches. In 2005 we had a three week period around Christmas/New Years when we got about 61 inches of snow. It is rare, but sometimes the weather is worse here than I remember it being in Minnesota. Worse snow-wise, not winter temperature-wise.
I live in a suburb on the south side of Denver. It is a very beautiful place. I like the fact that if I want snow the mountains are only an hour away. Many people have the misconception that Denver is always covered with snow in the winter. When we get snow we usually get a lot of it, but being a 'mile-high' we get the sunlight to melt it quickly the next day.
Denver is east of the mountains, so I don't get to see the fabulous sunsets we had in Minnesota. I do miss those.
I like to ride motorcycles. I do Microsoft Access programming and I create websites using Dreamweaver. I enjoy photography as a hobby.
